More about me

I’m a father of 4 beautiful kiddos, husband to my lovely wife Kelly for 14 years and counting; I like to write, make art, fiddle around with my guitar (I can’t do the drums anymore because our cats were too scared, poor things!) and listen to music. I’m a movie buff, I love a good cup of coffee (there is an espresso machine in my office) and I won’t talk politics with you unless you really want to… but just know, I fall firmly on the side of love.

What to expect from me: understanding, compassion, patience, tolerance, inclusivity, and a community-oriented practice. I am a firm believer in cooperating and collaborating with my patients as well as the community at large. No finger-wagging from me. I am laid-back, I love it when I can make someone smile (it’s my favorite) and I prefer to meet people where they are at— instead of where a provider thinks a person should be. This is core to my beliefs not only as a practitioner, but as a person. I believe everyone should be treated with basic human dignity.

I’m a psychiatric nurse practitioner, which means I am an “advanced practice registered nurse” who can offer assessment, diagnosis, and medical management of mental disorders, like:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • Bipolar

  • Obsessive compulsive disorder

  • Personality disorders

  • Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)

  • Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD)

  • And more! We’ll cross that bridge when we come to it.

What not to expect: treating you with judgmental attitude, treating you with exclusivity, treating you like a number, treating you like a diagnosis, treating you like I expect you to be non-compliant, treating you like I know everything and you do not.

Note: I do not accept the diagnoses of other providers and I do not “take over” controlled substance medication prescriptions. We can have an honest discussion about diagnosis and treatment, of course, but please do take note.

These are a few of my favorite things:

People participating in a pride parade holding signs that read 'Love is a Human Right' and wearing rainbow-colored clothing and accessories.
People gathered at an outdoor event with many rainbow flags, celebrating during daytime in an urban area.
Havin a laff
Sign displaying symbols for gender inclusivity and accessibility, with the word 'Inclusive' below.
Protesters gather in a rally, some wearing masks, holding signs including a large black flag that reads 'Black Lives Matter,' with one woman in the foreground speaking into a megaphone.
